The A.S. Tigre d’Oro Kung Fu Avellino was born in 1994 by the passion for Chinese martial arts of his president
Giancarlo Matarazzo who, after practising various Kung Fu styles, concentrates his interest only to the Shaolin Hung Gar. Following the family tradition, the school foresees the study of "forms" at several levels (simulated fightings with more opponents) with free hands: for example Gung Ji Fok Foo Kuen (literally: boxing to domesticate tiger), Lau Gar Kuen (boxing of Lau family), Wu Dip Jeong Kuen (boxing with butterfly palms), Foo Hok Seung Ying Kuen (doubles boxing of tiger and crane) up to Tit Sin Kuen (boxing of “iron thread”); forms with various weapons (stick, sabre, butterfly knifes, spear, halberd, pitchfork, ect) besides prepared fightings (and not) with and without weapons and the sporting fightings: sanda and light-sanda. Everything is always directed towards development of "chi", the internal energy, which it is possible to obtain only with regular and continuos practice, independently from muscular strength. From 2000 the A.S. Tigre d'oro was affiliated to EHGA ( European Hung Gar Association ) - the Italian branch – that has Sergio and Luigi Martone like leaders, direct pupils of G.M. Chiu Chi Ling.
